I'm trying to make shorter videos, so they're easier to share and easier on the eyes of the audience. My usual subects are hula dancers, musicians, animals, surfers, and athletes. I try to go easy on the grandkids, but I'm sure they're in their as well.
Sage Creek High School Pops Concert, 2024
The Sage Creek High School music department presented the immensely-popular Pops Concert, featuring music from three of composer John Williams' three best-selling movies: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic Park, and Star Wars. It was also a cosplay dress-up night for both musicians and fans who were so inclined. The music director of the Carlsbad high school is Juliana Quiñones.

Here is the 2014 Sage Creek High School Spring Orchestra Concert, under the direction of Music Director Juliana Quiñones. This year's concert theme was "Multicultural Mosaic," means selections reflecting many worldly cultures. We have grandkids in both of Carlsbad's two high schools, and both orchestras are tremendous.

Keani choreographed this hula to the mele Shells as a dedication to her longtime hula sister, Moani. Lynn's friend likes to collect sea shells.The song is from the CD entitled The Gathering, by Ahumanu. The video was recorded at Tamarack Beach in Carlsbad, CA.

Lynn wanted to share this hula with her nieces, who live across the country. She learned Hula Lōlō when she was growing up in Hawaii. This version is sing by Keoni Manuel. The name of the album is Memories on the High Seas.

Sage Creek High School's music department presented its mostly student-led annual Pops Concert in the Carlsbad school's Performing Arts Center. It was also the swan song for the school's seniors, so a few tears were shed along with the beautiful music.

Music director of Sage Creek High School in Carlsbad, CA, is Juliana Quiñones. The first seven groups are student-led groups who choose their own music selections and practice on their own. They are followed by the Jazz Combo, the String Orchestra, the Wind Ensemble, and the Chamber Orchestra, made up of more experienced players.

"The Gift of Music," Sage Creek High School's 2022 Winter Concert, drew a full house at the Carlsbad school's Performing Arts Center. Smaller, student-led ensembles lead off the concert, followed by the Wind Ensemble, the String Orchestra, the Jazz Combo, the Chamber Orchestra and full Symphonic Orchestra with more than 80 musicians. The school's music director is Juliana Quiñones.

Christinia Lee, director of the Halau Hula O Pualani group at the Carlsbad Senior Center, retired late last year. Some of her dancers entertained Christinia at her 102nd Drive-By Birthday, a tribute that had to be arranged to follow the guidelines of the Coronavirus shutdown.

John, I just wanted to say "Thank you" for taking the time to record, edit and post these events. You have consistently done a fantastic job capturing the Sage Creek concerts and I always seek out your posts after an event. These videos are/will be a treasure trove for these young musicians and their families to look back on. As a parent, I really appreciate your hard work. I wanted to tell you in person at the banquet but I missed the opportunity. You said some nice things about my son (the trumpet player) and I appreciate that as well. Take care, and Thanks again.

what two harps was he switching between?
Hi - It's key of A - so he's using 1st pos on an A harp mostly. But at 2.40 he solos on the D harp in cross position. Then at 3.30 in middle of solo he switches back to A harp in 1st pos again. (Then song stays in the same key all way through BTW). He uses the D harp a little before the solo as well - but the song starts and finishes in 1st pos on the A harp. Cheers Mike

looks like a nice zoo. They tried to create almost natural environment for lions : trees and grass and stones, lot of fresh air and birds singing . Only thing animals missing is hunting ... and freedom .
